THE WATER LAB DÉTOURNSAN EXISTING SPARKLING WATER FACTORY IN AN ADJACENT LOT. BYPRODUCTS OF THE INDUSTRIAL WATER PROCESSING OPERATION ARE REROUTED AND RECONFIGURED AS SENSORY EXPERIENCES FOR AN EXTERIOR COMMONS. MULTIPLE POINTS OF ENTRY AND AN OPEN CONFIGURATION ENCOURAGE PASSERSBY TO EXPLORE THE SPACE, WHILE A LONGITUDINAL CATWALK PROVIDES ACCESS TO AREAS OF MATERIAL SENSATION. THE WATER LAB REIMAGINES CIVIC INFRASTRUCTURE AS TRANSCENDING THE AUSTERE OR UTILITARIAN AND, INSTEAD, SPECULATING UPON NEW MODES OF LEISURE AND BODY-MATERIAL INTERACTION.
